Museum “Alija Izetbegovic” as depedance of Museum Sarajevo was opened on 19^th October 2007^th year. In the old city, actually in Vratnik drop tower Ploča and Širokac, thanks to enthusiasts and admirers of the life and works od Alija Izetbegovic, was born another monument to the Shehid cemetery “Kovači” that tells continued Bosnian story about life and death in battle against evil.

Besides the permanent exhibition that, with their content, calls and attracts visitors and public of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Museum “Alija Izetbegovic” with their proactive approach move towards the visitors and encourages their interest for the period of youngest history of Bosnia and Herzegovina sealed with life and work of Alija Izetbegovic. In accordance with a program of the Museum of Sarajevo, Museum “Alija Izetbegovic” is organizing workshops for elementary school students. After the tour and lectures that hold curator of the museum, the students in their artistic and literary works recorded impressions and knowledge.

Besides working with students, the museum encourages scientific research and graduate students' theses and doctoral dissertations intellectuals and scientists. Providing a constant communication with the Museum, and putting their own library, and various forms of historical sources available to the Museum “Alija Izetbegovic”, and in this way contributes to the truth.

Special attention deserves a mobile photo exhibition about the life, character and work of Alija Izetbegovic who made his debut 2008^th in Istanbul, which was later performed in the cities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, providing educated institutions the possibility of organizing additional training and inciting the public interest for the truth about the first president of independent Bosnia and Herzegovina.
