In the Land of Blood and Honey

The film tells the story of Daniel (Goran Kostic) and Ajla (Zana Marjanovic), who found themselves on opposite sides of the brutal ethnic conflict. Daniel is a Bosnian Serb police officer, while Ajla is a Muslim artists. Before the war they were together, however, that violence is flooding the country, so their relationship is changing. Months later, Daniel serves under the command of his father, Gen. Nebojsa Vukojevic (Rade Serbedzija), as an officer in the Yugoslav army. He and Ajla once again encountered when troops under the command of Daniel's father take her from the apartment where she lives with his sister Lejla (Vanesa Glođo) and her baby.

The conflict over control of their lives and their relationship changes, their motivations and their interconnection becomes ambiguous, and their loyalty to increasingly uncertain. The film shows the incredible emotional, moral and physical price charged by the war to individuals, as well as the consequences of a lack of political will to intervene.
