Fallen angel - an interesting exhibition at BlackBOX gallery
2006
Sandra Agatic is introducing herself to the audience in Sarajevo with her first solo exhibition of photography. Her photos have been made through a deliberation on complexity of woman and her abilities of spiritual and physical transformation. Wings were used as a key part of the costume design, expressing the character and emphasizing experience of a beholder.
In one moment woman is as gentle as an angel with white wings surrounded by sky and sea. Yet, in another moment she is an Amazon woman, strong like a warrior.
Wings also go through a transformation which at first makes them white and at the end they become black, thus stressing out the bright and dark side of character.
Sigmund Freud once said: 'Ethernal question that has never been answered and the question that I failed to find an answer, despite 30 years of my research of woman's soul, would be - What women want?'
Through this exhibition, the author is asking the question: 'Are women creatures from this planet or are they fallen angels?'
The exhibition will be open until 30 June.
