Skakavac Waterfall

Skakavac Waterfall

This tour is recommended in summer

The vegetation around the waterfall is abundant endemic species.

The waterfall is 98 meters high and is located in a landscape of exceptional beauty. The surrounding area is one of the most heterogenic in this area, dominated by spruce-fir forests of beech and fir forests with spruce on the marked slope.
On shallow calcareous soils near the waterfalls have been developed thermophilous forests and thickets of hornbeam and autumn moor grass and hop hornbeam and ash. Especially interesting is the vegetation on the rocks around the waterfall, which is rich in endemic species. Waterfall Skakavac, in many ways remarkable, is one of the most beautiful natural tourist motives in the vicinity of Sarajevo.

The hike to the top of the waterfall along a mountain road begins from the foothills below Seven Sources. Skakavac is the largest continually flowing waterfall in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
